Byers is a partner at the Houston-based firm's San Diego office and in 2009 was named director of sustainability for her dedication to environmentally responsible design and contributions to Studio RED Architects' LEED and green projects. RED News: Studio RED's Design of Amazing Place Earns LEED Silver Certification
Posted by Studio RED Architects on January 14,2011Amazing Place, a memory care day center for those with mild to moderate Alzheimer's or related dementia designed by Houston-based Studio RED Architects, has been awarded the prestigious LEED Silver Green Building Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the first senior care center in Houston to have earned this award. Studio RED designed the 13,800 square building to support the therapeutic programs and activities for participants as well as families and caregivers while adding many sustainable features. The facility, which opened May, 2010, triples the size of the previous facility (formerly The Seniors Place) to serve up to 135 participants and their families per week.

RED News: Studio RED announces New St. Benedict Catholic Church Project
Posted by Studio RED Architects on September 28,2010Studio RED Architects is designing a new church for St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church in Southwest Houston. The unique design in the shape of the Christian "Icthys" fish symbol has two intersecting arcs to resemble the profile of a fish. Awarded through the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, the project is scheduled to begin construction in April of 2011.

RED News: Behind the Scenes as the Architect for the EMHE Houston home

See the transformation of the new Johnson family home, designed by Studio RED Architects with construction managed by HHN Homes, both of Houston, with the help of hundreds of Houston volunteers who worked round the clock for one week this past summer while the deserving family was sent on an educational trip to Paris.

RED News: New City of Beaumont Event Center Begins Construction

The Event Center, lake park and outdoor lawn is part of a long range plan to create a new heart of downtown Beaumont. Shasa, a highly successful Mexico-City based retailer, specializes in trendy fashions for the junior, set at highly competitive prices. The prototype store in the Houston Galleria is the beginning of an aggressive national expansion for the retailer, with 13 stores slated for 2010, 35 for 2011 and 65 in 2012. Read more...
