Accolades for Relationship-Centered Design of River Pointe Student Building

River Pointe Church Student Building 7

The design of River Pointe Church Student Building in Houston was awarded the Solomon Award by Worship Facilities Magazine (WFX) for Best Special Project. Studio RED Architects was selected by the church to design the student building as the central hub of a new master plan for the Richmond, Texas campus.

The 17,000-square-foot building is recognized for its unique concentration on interpersonal recreation and relationship-building spaces, or “relational spaces,” as described by the firm. Leadership at River Pointe Church hope that life-long relationships between members will be built as students gather to talk, play and fellowship with one another and with mentors in the new building’s indoor and outdoor spaces.

Studio RED Partner-in-charge Trung Doan and Project Manager Micah Simecek describe the building’s design and unique features in the firm’s video below.
