PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Kinkaid School Upper School project, in collaboration with Atelier Cho Thompson, reimagined the high school within its existing footprint while introducing a circular building that blends the campus’s traditional architectural character with a contemporary curved form. A centralized courtyard creates a one-acre green space that expands opportunities for outdoor gathering and learning while establishing a vibrant hub for student life.
The project enhances the student experience through a learning environment designed for 21st-century education, featuring flexible learning settings and seamless indoor-outdoor connections. The building includes a resource center, café, two student centers, 65 classrooms, 11 labs, three gyms, and supporting program spaces.
The result is a transformative educational environment that extends learning beyond the classroom and strengthens connections across the campus. By integrating spaces for connection, congregation, and collaboration, the project enriches the campus experience and supports Kinkaid’s legacy for generations to come.
