T.T. and W.F. Chao Senior Center Celebrates Grand Opening

T.T. and W.F. Chao Senior Center

The Chinese Community Center of Houston recently celebrated the grand opening of the New Horizons expansion project, the T.T. and W.F. Chao Senior Center. The new Senior Center was designed by Studio RED Architects and built by Horizon International Group.

“It was an honor to partner with the Chinese Community Center to provide them with additional spaces to serve the community,” says Trung Doan, Studio RED Partner. “We resonate with their mission to bridge East and West by enriching families with educational, cultural, and social service programs.”

CCC Building C Stage

The new two-story 20,000-square-foot facility enables the Chinese Community Center to serve 5,000 more people each year, including children, families, older adults and adults with disabilities from low- to moderate-income households. Additionally, the Center is now able to offer a new Wellness Program with various programs, including fitness and recreation classes and a Teahouse for members to enjoy.

The space also features a renovated recreation center and a state-licensed adult day care center, fully-equipped auditorium, full-sized commercial kitchen, conference venue, open courtyard, and playground.
