Amazing Place is a 13,000-sf Fellowship, Memory and Wellness Center that serves sixty participants in the early and middle stages of Alzheimer’s. It is designed to create a warm environment for those with mild dementia and helps stimulate participants’ minds through the use of familiar materials, texture, warmth, light and color. The center utilizes “Healing Garden Concepts” and includes a fish pond, aquarium, library, chapel, and even a pool table. All major activity meeting rooms are organized around the courtyard to provide critical natural light for the participants. Patients gather as a community in one of two large activity rooms and meals are shared family style in the largest room.
